We have been doing lots of ‘poppy’ inspired work for Remembrance Day within our literacy and numeracy lessons. The children have learnt lots of facts about poppies, the history of them and why we wear them.
We walked down to the war memorial in the village to look at the names written on it and think about what that meant, then we came back and at 11am we had a minute of silence looking at the poppies on the window that the children have made and thinking about what we had learnt.
Lest we forget.
